Garden Kick-off Fun!

Saturday, December 5, parents joined Coach Malika, Mr. Schmaedick, CUSD staff and an eager team of volunteers from the Campbell Methodist Church for our School Garden Kick-off celebration.  Everyone had a chance to plant their own seeds in a pot to take home and to share ideas for what we should plant in the school garden.

Volunteer Joe Liverseed announced the Church's commitment to the success of the garden and shared that the congregation was donating $2,000 to cover start up costs.  "This is your garden," he stated, "It will only be successful in the long run if the community steps up to make it happen."

District Garden Coordinator Tony Kienitz said, "This is a beautiful space.  In time it will become a peaceful oasis on the campus, a place where parents and students will want to visit often."

Join us for our next garden work party on January 9, from 10-1.
