Thanks to all the community members, agencies, and organizations who form a part of the Rosemary School Campus Collaborative.  The Collaborative meets quarterly to discuss the needs at our school and in our community and to work together to find solutions.

Representatives from the City of San Jose, Project Hope, the SJPD, the Campbell Community Center, The Home Church, The Campbell United Methodist Congregation, BAWSI, and a select group of Rosemary Parents met on September 27 to discuss work being done in the neighborhood and at the school.  Some highlights include a new recycling awareness campaign being facilitated by Tzu Chi volunteers at the school, an after-school academic support class being offered at the Home Church for Rosemary students, and the formation of the Neighborhood Association under the facilitation of the City of San Jose's Project Hope.

We are very grateful for the support from so many organizations in our community.  If you are interested in joining our Campus Collaborative please contact our School Link Service Coordinator, Fany Arango at 408-364-4254.

This month’s ABC book: “Friends to the End for Kids: The True Value of Friendship” by Bradley Trevor Greive uses engaging photos of animals to illustrate how to make friends, keep friends, and the importance of friends.

Goals of lesson:

  •   To help all students learn how to respect each other and to develop stronger

    interpersonal skills.

  •   To have students explore ways to be UPstanders both online and in our

    face-to-face world.

To reinforce this lesson at home:

Share some stories about your own friendships.
Here are some questions you can discuss with your child:

What do you like most about your friends?
Do they bring out the best in you?
Do you bring out the best in them?
How do you show your friends that you care about them? How do your friends handle conflict when it arises?

When you “catch” kids modeling positive behaviors... Notice, Name it, and Celebrate it!

Greetings from Rosemary School!  We hope you have had an active and enjoyable summer filled with many opportunities to learn and grow. In the 2017-18 school year Rosemary will be joining a national network of schools called EL Education.  EL Education is a 25 year-old organization that grew out of a partnership between Outward Bound USA and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.  EL Education schools are bound together by an expanded understanding of student achievement that prioritizes not only mastery of grade-level skills and knowledge, but that puts equal importance on the development each student's character - challenging every child to develop into model citizens in our community. We are very excited about what this powerful model for great schools will bring Rosemary students.

In the second week of August you will receive an important packet of information from the school.  Please read it all very carefully.  Of particular importance is the yellow Emergency Contact Form.  We MUST have this form on file for every student so that our office staff can contact parents.

Take note of our attached uniform policy:  Navy blue and white shirts with khaki or navy blue pants - no jeans.
